Abstract
Objective: In this study, the relationship between the efficacy of TGF-β1 signaling and chronic hepatitis B was investigated in order to understand the mechanism of liver cirrhosis. Methods: With immunohistochemistry method, the expression and distribution of TGF-β1 in cells were detected in chronic hepatitis B patients. Results: TGF-β1, was detected in nonparenchymal cells(NPC) ,such as hepatic stellate cells ( HSCs), endothehal cells, myofibroblasts(MFB) and the expression of TGF-β1 was gradually increased along with inflammation and fibrosis score. Conclusion: TGF-β1 can regulate the ECM production and the development of fibrosis. The increased expression of TGF-β1 was mainly secreted by NPC in liver tissue of chronic hepatitis B patients. The level of TGF-β1 was up-regulated in an inflammation-and-fibrosis-score-dependent manner.
