Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of inhalation nitrous oxide(NO)for relieving pain in delivery on progression of labor. Methods There were a total of 1012 cases of pregnant women, whose clinical features was corresponding with single fetal-head position, pregnancy at term, pregnant period 37~41 weeks, and with normal pelvimetry, and consent with spontaneous delivery, were divided into two groups.NO group 512 patients and control group(500 patients). Results The response to pain and the rates of cesarean section in treatment group were significantly lower than those in control group(P0.01);the mean time of dilatation of cervical and complete dilatation of cervical in treatment group were significantly shorter than in control group(P0.01).Conclusion The NO for relieving pain of delivery is effective,it doesn't hinder the progression of labor, and it may decrease the rates of lesarean section.
