Abstract

Based on the achievements in scientific research on desertification in recent years,in this paper,the concept of desertification and the process of development are summarized and discussed firstly;secondly,summarized and analyzed the problems of desertification assessment,including the process of desertification research and the types of desertification assessment;thirdly,summarized the compartmentalization of desertification types;lastly,based on the fact of Xinjiang,discussed the main desertification types and the state of distribution.
