Trade Protectionism in the Financial Crisis and Measures Taken by China

The global financial crisis triggered the outbreak of trade protectionism in the world.The paper analyzes the causes,trends and characteristics of the current trade protectionism and its impact on China,and offers some suggestions correspondingly.The deterioration of economic environment,interest groups' influence and the imperfection of the existing multilateral trade rules are all the causes of the trade protection.The number of short-term trade protection affairs tends to continue to increase.As for its characteristics,the legality,concealment,diversification and concentration emerged,accompanied by trade liberalization measures.Trade protectionism has had some detrimental effects on China in the fields of policy and economy.It's necessary to establish warning mechanism,make full use of the current WTO rules,actively lobby against trade protectionism and change market structure and product structure of export.
