Diagnostic value of mammography in breast cancer:Report of 38 cases

Abstract

Objective:To investigate the characteristics of mammography the diagnostic value in breast cancer.Methods: The data of 38 cases confirmed both by surgery and pathology with breast cancer were analyzed retrospectively for the X ray findings.Results: Among the 38 cases,29 clearly showed the mass in mammography(76.32 %),21 were characterized by calcification(55.26%);3,increased focal density and structural disorder(7.8%);4,dilated ducts(10.53%4);6,invaginated nipple(15.79%);9,abnormal vessels(23.68%) and another 9,lymphadenhypertrophy in armpit(23.68%).Conclusion: Mammography is of great value in diagnosis of breast cancer and therefore,it is preferable in clinic for screening this disease.
