On Relationships among Language Planning,Language Policy and Social Background

Language planning is the intervention efforts to the life of social language, while language policy is the guarantee for the carrying out of the language planning. The proposing of the language planning and the formulating of the language policy should root from the social background of a specific language community, and also take into account of the structure of ethnic groups, cultural and historical background, international political situation of this language community, changes of the society, development of technology, changes of the language itself, etc. Our language planning and language policy rooting from the situations of the new China have proved relatively successful.
