Abstract
Folk songs exert great influence on the origin and the development of the ancient Chinese poetry, Ci and Qu. In order to show the great influence folk songs have on the formation of the ancient Ci, this paper discusses the four waves for ancient verses to absorb folk songs, the classification of the origin of Ci, the relationship between music and Ci,, the discovery of Dunhuang Quzi Ci, and so on.
