The effects of ambroxol hydrochloride injection on infants with pneumonia

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of ambroxol on infants pneumonia as an adjunctive therapy.Methods:The 110 cases of infant pneumonia in hospital were separated into the treatment group(60 cases)and the control group(50 cases)at random.Tow groups giving anti-infection,symptomatic and supportive treatment conventionally altogether,and the treatment group accepted ambroxol as an adjunctive therapy with intervenous drop infuse and/or oxygen atomizing inhalation(2 years old 7.5 mg,2 years old 15 mg,once a day or twice a day,7 days of process in treatment).Results:The total effective rates of the two groups were 95.0% and 76.0% respectively(P0.01).There is significant difference statistically(P0.01).The disapearing time of cough,phlegm in the throat and rales in the lungs and the length of stay of treatment group were shorter than the control group.There is significant difference(P0.01),and there is not any adverse reaction.Conclusions:Ambroxol has safety and effects on infant pneumonia.
