Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the results and prognostic factors of 65 patients with early nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC).Methods:A restrospectively analysis was made on 48 patients treated by the radiotherapy alone plus 17 by radiotherapy and neoadjuvant chemotherapy. The regimen of neoadjuvant chemotherapy consisted of 5-Fu(750?mg 4~5?days)and cisplatin(50?mg 2?days).Radiotherapy was administered after chemotherapy.Retrospective univeriate and multivariate analysis was performed using the KaplanMeier method and Cox proportional hazard model. Results:The overall 1-3-5-year survival rate were 96.92?%,86.15?%,71.15?%,respectively.The overall 5 year local control rate and distant metastatic were 78.5?% and 26.2?%.5 year survival rate were significantly lower in patients who had hemoglobin 110?g/L than those(110?g/L.)The lower survival rate was in the group with nasopharyngeal residual.Conclusion:(1)Lower hemoglobin level are the unfavorable prognostic factors in early NPC.(2)The survival rate decreases in patients with residual lesion after radiotherapy.(3)Radiotherapy combined with neoadjuvant chemotherapy in Ⅱstage patients did not significantly improve the survival rate.
