On the Base and Dimensions of Humanistic Education in China's Colleges and Universities

Humanistic education in China's colleges and universities faces the predicaments produced from one-sided examination-oriented education to humane quality education then to university idea.The key to solving the problem is to dialectically reconcile two educational dimensions: pursuing the wisdom,pursuing the conscience and seeking humanity,seeking people-oriented doctrine from the perspective of educational base of the sense of shame.While developing college students' multidimensional knowledge structure,as well as improving their comprehensive innovation ability,teachers should strengthen college students' social responsibility and consciousness of historical mission.Only in this way can the long-term contradiction conflict in colleges and universities between moralism and utilitarianism,holism and individualism be solved,finally can humanistic education in China's colleges and universities heads for comprehension,perfection and maturity.
