Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of electro-acupuncture on the expression of NMDAR1 mRNA in the hippocampus of rats with Alzheimer's disease(AD),and discuss the mechanism.Methods SD rats were randomly divided into 4 groups:the normal group,sham-operated group,model group,electro-acupuncture group.Bilateral hippocampus were injected condensed Aβ25-35 to make rat model of AD.Electro-acupuncture group were selected bilateral Shenshu points,bilateral Neiguan points and Dazhui points,treated by G6805-Ⅱ type electro-acupuncture therapeutic apparatus with the frequence of 2 Hz continuous wave and the intensity of 1 mA,lasting 20 min,one time per day,6 times a week,for a total of two weeks.Hybridization in situ was used to detect NMDAR1 mRNA changes in hippocampus of each group and the effect of electro-acupuncture's intervention to NMDAR1 mRNA was analyzed.Results Compared with sham-operated group,NMDAR1 mRNA's expression of model group's hippocampus decreased obviously(P0.01).Compared with the model group,NMDAR1 mRNA's expression of electro-acupuncture group's hippocampus increased significantly(P0.01).Conclusion Electro-acupuncture may increase the expression of NMDAR1 mRNA,make full activation of NMDAR,enhance LTP,to improve the learning-memory capacity of rats with AD.
