The Effect of Shiteng Capsules on TNF-α and IL-1β in Rats with Adjuvant Arthritis

Abstract

Objective:To observe the effect of Shiteng capsules on the content of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and interleukin-1β(IL-1β)in blood serum of rats with adjuvant arthritis(AA).Method: Thirty-two Wistar rats were randomly divided into 4 groups as follows: control group,model group,shiteng capsules group,tripterygium wilfordii group.The model was induced by Freund's complete adjuvant.The TNF-α and IL-1β level in blood serum was detected by radioimmunity,at the same time,the inhibition ratio of paw edema,arthritis index and pathological score was observed.Result: Shiteng capsules cauld decrease TNF-α and IL-1β level in rats with AA obviously(compared with model group,P0.01),and increse the inhibition ratio of paw edema.Conclusion: Shiteng capsules can play therapeutical effect to AA by redusing the levevl of serum TNF-α and IL-1β.
