Abstract
The preparation of solid superacid catalyst, TiO 2 /SO 2- 4 supported on clay, and its catalytic activity to esterification of n-butyric acid and isoamyl alcohol in the presence of cyclohexane were investigated. It was found that the catalyst had fine catalytic activity. The optimum conditions of esterification by orthogonal experiments were as follows: the best active temperature of catalyst was 600 ℃, the amount of catalyst was 12 % up on the mass of butyric acid in reaction, the mole ratio of alcohol to acid was 1.2∶1 and the reaction time was 1 h. The esterified rate was up to 95.2 %.
