Abstract
To study a simple and effective method of subdivision surfaces so that the resulting surface is not only smooth but also adjustable. An adjustable adaptive subdivision method for triangle meshes is presented,by introducing shape control factor in loop subdivision scheme, the shape of geometry can be adjust in the process of subdivision.Furthermore, the threshold of neighbor dihedral angle is utilized as the control error for subdivision depth. An simulation example is presented that the method not only use fewer meshes to obtain the good performance surface, but also can adjust the shape of subdivision surface to satisfy the actual requirement.
