Abstract
Based on TK-2D software, mathematical models with irregular triangular grid of tidal current and suspended sediment in Huludao sea area are set up.Verification and validation are carried out fully against field measured data, and then tidal current field and suspended sediment field are numerically simulated.According to the simulation results, analyses are made on the characteristics of tidal current field and suspended sediment field. The study results show that:(1) tidal current in this sea area is of semi-diurnal type.(2) tidal current in this sea area assumes basically alternating current parallel to shoreline.(3) tidal force in this sea area is moderate.(4) The sediment content in water is very little generally and is evenly distributed.
