Determination of sodium danshensu and protocatechuic aldehyde inDanshen Capsules by HPLC

Abstract
Objective: To establish an HPLC method for determination of sodium danshensu and protocatechuic aldehyde in Danshen Capsules.Methods: Study on determination method of sodium danshensu and protocatechuic aldehyde in Danshen Capsules.Stationary phase was ODS;mobile phase was composed of methanol-0.5% glacial acetic acid solution(17∶83);UV detection wavelength was 280nm.Results: The linear ranges of sodium danshensu and protocatechuic aldehyde were 0.0499～0.4990mg·ml-1 and 0.0118～0.1180mg·ml-1,respectively;the correlation coefficients were 0.9999 and 0.9999,respectively;the average recoveries were 99.34%(RSD=1.734%) and 99.25%(RSD=1.39%),respectively.Conclusion: The method was simple,rapid,accurate,sensitive and reproducible.It was suitable for the determination of tanshinol sodium and protocatechualdehyde in Danshen Capsules.
