Abstract
Effect of solution temperature on microstructure and mechanical properties of a novel Al-Cu-Li alloy(2A97 alloy) solution-treated at 460-540℃ was studied by means of optical microscope,TEM,SEM and EDS analysis.After solution treatment,the all alloy samples were aged at 165℃ for 48 h.The results show that complete dissolution of the particles in the 2A97 alloy is obtained after solution teatment at 520℃ and fine uniformly precipitated phases is observed after aging.The excellent strengthening effect can be expected for the 2A97 alloy after solution treatment at 520℃ for 2 h and then aging at 165℃ for 48 h.
