THE DOMESTIC PROGRESS OF THE TOURISM RESEARCH IN TRADITIONAL VILLAGES AND TOWNS

There are lots of tradition villages and towns in China.These ancient villages and towns are named bright pearls of tradition culture and national treasures collected in folk.As a kind of special cultural tourist resource,traditional villages and towns have been paid more close attention for a swift and violent development.These traditional villages and towns have been tourist hot spots in new century.So domestic tourist academic circle gradually follow the tourist study of traditional villages and towns with interest.At the same time,there are some problems to improve in the research: 1) The tourist research of traditional villages and towns falls behind their tourist development.This situation is unfavorable of the sustainable exploitation and scientific utilization of the traditional villages and towns.At the same time it is harmful for the valuable cultural heritage resources.The existing study achievements only concern on the minority of those traditional villages and towns.And there are little research concerning on the majority.2) In China,the tourist researches in traditional villages and towns are still at the primary stage.The research method is single,and the research depth is not enough.In the existing achievement,there are a lot of descriptive results,but the conceptive,model and statistical results are few(The latter is less 1/10).Furthermore there are too many low and duplicate research works on the tradition villages and towns in China.There are also short of thoroughgoing and painstaking work and advanced methods,which influences the depth and range of the relevant research.There are many areas to be deepened.3) In China,the tourist researches are mainly concerned with the tourist resources,and their research contents are still single and superficial.As the tourism of tradition villages and towns develops,there needs the study from different angles and aspects.Now the achievements mainly concentrate on the preliminary study of the tourism exploiting about tradition villages and towns.But these areas on the tourism study of tradition villages and towns are hardly concerned with,such as the tourism regional influences,tourist behavior,evolving pattern of destination and tourism sociology.Besides,the tourism sustainable development of tradition villages and towns should arouse concern.
