Differences of regional economy of Fujian Province based on ESDA

Based on the method of ESDA,the spatial differences of the regional economic development level of Fujian Province was investigated by using the data of GDP per capita at county level in 1998,2002 and 2006.The results indicated that the global Moran′s I indexes for GDP per capita at county level of Fujian Province reached the significant positive spatial correlation.The spatial agglomerate phenomenon of regional economic development levels appeared on the whole.However,from 1998 to 2006,the global Moran′s I value had a descendant trend,suggesting the enlargement of the prefectural economic difference.Significant local spatial auto-correlation was also found.The counties with the significant high-high correlation were mainly distributed in the southeast and east of Fujian Province.While the counties with the significant low-low correlation were located in the north and west of Fujian Province.As a whole,the quantity of counties with the positive association was higher than that with the negative association.Suggestions for resolving the difference expansion of regional economy were also proposed.
