Abstract
Objective The study was conducted to identify the contamination of Vibrio parahaemolyticus in sea foods.Methods Seafood such as fish and shrimps purchased from individual farm markets in Zhoushan city in three separated quarters are sampled and analyzed.Vibrio parahaemolyticus was quantitatively identified using most probable numbers(MPN),and isolates were detected for toxin genes.Results The density of Vibrio parahaemolyticus in seafood varied significantly on a monthly basis.TDH genes were detected in 2 out of 33 isolates of Vibrio parahaemolyticus.Conclusion Heavy Vibrio parahaemolyticus contamination was found in sea products in Zhoushan,requiring urgent attention.
