Abstract
Tibet is considered as one of the most abundant and typical regions an bio-diversity both in China and in the world. There are richer rare and endangered plants in Tibet. According to the red book of Chinese plants (Vol. 1) and the national important wild conservative plants list (List 1) which was issued by the State Council in August of 1999, there are 33 families, 48 genera, 54 species of rare and endangered plants in Tibet. Based on detailed floristic statistics, the floristic elements and the geographical distribution are analyzed in this paper. The results have shown that the floristic elements have such features as complicated geographical elements, obvious temperate nature, rich endemic species but poor genera, and uneven geographical distribution. In addition, some proposals for protecting the resources are put forward on basis of the present situation.
