Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of Midazolam and Midazolam with Pinaverium Br (Dicetel) or Otilonium Br ( Spasmomen) on colonoscopy. Methods One hundred and twenty outpatients undergone colonoscopy between 2001. 12 -2002. 5 in PUMC hospital were enrolled in their consent. The patients were divided into four groups in a longitudinal sequence; Control group, Group Ⅰ (Midazolam 3 mg i. m. 30 min before colonoscopy) , Group Ⅱ (Midazolam , Dicetel 100 mg t. i. d. x 3d before examination) and Group Ⅲ ( Midazolam, Spasmomen 40 mg×2) . Results (1) During colonoscopy the pain scales in groups Ⅰ , ⅡI and M were significantly lower than in control group. (2) In patients with repeated colonoscopy, the pain scales in this examination were remarkably lower than those in the previous examination of groups Ⅰ andⅡ , no significant corresponding changes in control and II groups. (3 ) The pain scales of colonoscopy during preparation in groups Ⅱ andⅢ were lower than those in the other groups. (4) The sedation status was better in group Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ than that in control group. (5 ) The anxiety visual analog test (AVAT) and status of anxiety inventory (SAI) 30 min after colonoscopy all were decreased in four groups and there was no significant difference in each group. (6 ) There was no significant difference in memory test of each group. ( 7 ) The patients' HR and BP during or before and after colonoscopy all were no significant changes in each group. Conclusion The good effects of Midazolam for colonoscopy were observed including analgesic and sedation, but no effect on HR, BP and memory. Dicetel and spasmomen can relieve pain during colonoscopy preparation.
