Abstract

Communicative competence is a complex theory that plays an important role in sociolinguistics, applied linguistics and pedagogy. This article focuses on the various research on the relevant linguistic theories, models and practical language teaching. It should be pointed out that communicative competence is a dynamic concept. Only after we have a good knowledge of the theory can we realize the purpose of language teaching-to cultivate the learners' communicative competence.
