Clinical Study of Nourishing Yin and Eliminating Phlegm in Treatment of AECOPD

Abstract
Objective: To observe the therapeutic effects of nourishing Yin and eliminating phlegm method in treating acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease( AECOPD) through analyzing symptoms,and to find an effective way for these patients. Methods: 98 cases of COPD who were hospitalized were selected and divided into two groups. 48 cases in the control group were treated with conventional western medicine,and 50 cases in the treatment group were treated with traditional Chinese medicine in addition to western medicine. The conditions of the patients,the index of inflammation,the blood gas analysis and the pulmonary function were detected respectively on the first day and seventh day. The data between the two groups and anterior-posterior of treatment were analyzed by SPSS. Results: The indexes after treatment in the two groups were become better than that of before( P 0. 05),and the total effective rate of the treatment group was obviously higher than that of the control group. The indexes of FEV1%,PaO2,PaCO2and SaO2in the treatment group were better than those of the control group( P 0. 05). Conclusion: Nourishing Yin and eliminating phlegm method in treating AECOPD can significantly improve the therapeutic effects,which is fitting to the pathogenesis of COPD.
