Abstract

According to the comparative test data of different irrigation modes of rice in Irrigation Testing Station of Ganfu Plain during 1987~2003,the author analyzed the effects of intermittent irrigation and shallow water irrigation on water consumption and water requirement coefficient. The results show that under the same fertilizer application amount and cultivation conditions,in comparison with shallow water irrigation, intermittent irrigation can decrease the water consumption and water requirement coefficient of rice, and increase water production rate.
