Abstract

Objective To study the effect of low dose ketamine on making comfortable and painless during the recovery period from remifentanil-based general anaesthesia. Methods Sixty female adult patients with ASA grade I to Ⅱ who undergone the hysteroscopy and laparoscopy were randomized into two groups, with 30 patients for each.Remifentanil(1μg/kg),propofol(2 mg/kg) and vecuronium(0.1 mg/kg) were administered for anesthesia induction, and 0.2~0.25μg/(kg·min) remifentanil and 1%~1.5% isoflurane were given for anesthesia maintenance in the two groups. Before the end of surgery, low dose ketamine of 0.5 mg/kg was intravenous injected in group Ⅰ and was not administered in group Ⅱ.The rate of restlessness and bucking during recovery, the time of opening eyes on command and extubation were registered. The blood pressure(BP) and heart rate(HR) was recorded at the time points of entering the operation room(T0),completion of the operation(T1),extubation(T2),and 5 minutes after extubation(T3).And the VRS score was evaluated at T1 and T3.Results Compared with the group Ⅱ,the rate of restlessness and bucking of group Ⅰ was obviously lower(P0.01),and the time of opening eyes and extubation were slightly longer in groupⅠ,but no significant difference between two groups(P0.05).In group Ⅰ,BP and HR of T2 and T3,and the VRS score of T2 were remarkable lower than those of group Ⅱ(P0.01 or P0.05).Conclusion Low dose ketamine can make extubation comfortable and painless during recovery from remifentanil-based general anesthesia.
