Abstract
Objective To analyze the prevalence and phenotypes of inducible clindamycin resistance of staphylococcus in our hospital. Methods The susceptibility to erythromycin and clindamycin for staphylococcus was examined by Kirby-Bauer disc agar diffusion test and the inducible resistance of erythromycin to clindamycin was checked by D-test according to the standards of CLSI 2011.Results Co-resistance strains to erythromycin and clindamycin accounted for 61.2%.D-test positive rate was 11.9% among all staphylococcus tested, and it was 56.5% among the erythromycin-resistant and clindamycin-sensitive staphylococcus. Conclusion A high rate of positive D-test results is observed in the test. The detection of inducible clindamycin resistance should be conducted routinely in microbiological laboratory to guide appropriate use of antibiotics in clinical practices.
