Abstract

Objective To detect the resistance of Staphylococcus to erythromycin and clindamycin, and analyze the prevalence of inducible resistance of Staphylococcus to erythromycin and clindamycin. Methods The susceptibilities of Staphylococcus to erythromycin and clindamycin were determined by Kirby-Bauer disc agar diffusion test and the inducible resistance of Staphylococcus to erythromycin and clindamycin was determined by D-test according to the standards of NCCLS(2004 M100-S14). Results Co-resistance Staphylococcus to erythromycin and clindamycin was accounted for 80% and 54.05% in MRSA and MRCNS respectively. The rate of D-test positive was accounted for 26.12% the Staphylococcus tested was accounted for 68.62% of Staphylococcus sensitive to erythromycin and resistant to clindamycin. The D-test positive rates of inducible resistance of Staphylococcus aureus resistance to erythromycin and sensitive to clindamycin and and coagulase-negative Staphylococcus were 75% and 66.66%.. Conclusion The inducible resistance of Staphylococcus to erythromycin and clindamycin should be detected by D-test for guidance of clinical treament of Staphylococcus infection.
