Abstract

Hereditary aristocrats moving southward from Xu and Yan at the end of Western Jin Dynasty,such as Langya Wang family,Langya Zhuge family,Gaoping Xi family,Taishan Yang family,and Chenliu Ruan family,played an important role in the establishment of the regime of the Eastern Jin Dynasty.It can be seen in hereditary aristocrats' intermarriage,mutual support,and special relationship with the royal family.Hereditary aristocrats from Xu and Yan held the state power,dominated the royal government,controlled the royal forces and the local military authority,affecting the Eastern Jin Dynasty political power development and stability,thus became the noticeable political power in preliminary Eastern Jin Dynasty.
