Abstract

Objective: To explore the clinical curative effects of combining traditional Chinese and Western medicine in treating refractory nerve root cervical spondylosis. Methods: 120 cases of nerve root type cervical spondylosis patients were divided into two groups of 60 cases for each;one were treated by combining traditional Chinese and Western medicine as treatment group, the other were treated by traditional therapy(bone setting manipulation, drawing, physiotherapy and drug) as matched group. The information of the curative effect by two groups was observed after 4 weeks and 6 months.Result: By 4 weeks after treatment, the effective percentage of two groups are 96.7%(treatment group) and 84.0%(matched group) respectively.6 months later, the effect in treatment group is the same as that by 4 weeks. But it shows an obviously drop in the matched group(P 0.05).Conclusion: The application of combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine has distinctly clinical curative effects in treating refractory nerve root type cervical spondylosis.
