Abstract
Objective To investigate the semen zizyphi spinosi mixture's curative effects of sedation, hypnotic action and spontaneous activity inhibition in mice. Methods With the electronic counting method and turn over reflecting method, the number of movement and sleeping time was determined in mice. Results The high-,medium-and low-dose group of semen zizyphi spinosi mixture increased sleeping animal number and time, significantly suppressed the spontaneous activity, defecate number in mouse, lengthened sleeping time of sedative hypnotics(diazepam) with those the untreated group(P0.05 or P0.01).Conclusion Semen zizyphi spinosi mixture has sedative hypnotic effects and spontaneous activity inhibition in mice.
