Perfusion CT Measurement of Acute Pancreatitis in Vivo

Abstract

Objective To study the correlation between blood perfusion and clinical feature in acute pancreatitis(AP).Methods 95 patients with AP confirmed by clinic and 71 patinets with normal pancreas as control group were included in this study.All case underwent contrast-enhanced CT scan.The blood flow(BF),blood volume(BV) and mean transit time(MTT) of pancreas were calculated and statistically analyzed using Philips perfusion analysis software.Results In control group,BF at the head of pancreas,the pancreatic body and pancreatic tail was(63.7±22.1) ml·100 g-1·min-1,(72.6±23.3) ml·100 g-1·min-1 and(72.0±20.1) ml·100 g-1·min-1 respectively.MTT is(32.9±22.5)s.In AP group,according to Ranson grading,there were 50 patients were included,among them,19 were mild,BF of the body of pancreas was(53.2±14.9) ml·100 g-1·min-1,23 were moderate,BF of the body of pancreas was(48.8±21.4) ml·100 g-1·min-1,8 were severe,BF of the body of pancreas was(30.4±17.2) ml·100 g-1·min-1.Conclusion Perfusion CT scan can be used to evaluate severity of acute pancreatitis.
