Abstract
The possibility of methanol synthesis in liquid phase at low temperature with a Raney Ni/alkoxide catalyst system was studied. The optimal reaction conditions with triglyme as solvent were: reaction pressure 5 MPa; reaction temperature, 160 °C ; reaction time, 5 h, Raney Ni lg; Raney Ni: CH 3ONa∶CH 3OH(mass ratis)=1∶2∶6. It was found that THF was a suitable solvent for washing water off Raney Ni.
