Abstract

The hydrogenation reaction of acetonitrile catalyzed by Ti modified raney Ni catalyst to prepare ethylamine in liquid phase was studied. The effects of Ti/Ni molar ratio in Ti modified raney Ni catalyst, added amount of NaOH in the reaction system and the operation conditions, such as hydrogenation reaction temperature, hydrogen pressure and stirring rate,on the catalytic hydrogenation of acetonitrile in liquid phase were carefully investigated. The optimal Ti/Ni molar ratio of Ti modified raney Ni catalyst and conditions of hydrogenation reaction were determined. The impact mechanism of Ti modified raney Ni catalyst on acetonitrile hydrogenation reaction was discussed. The experimental results showed that the conversion of acetonitrile could reach 100%,the selectivity of ethylamine could reach 75.6% under the reaction conditions of reaction temperature 333-343 K,hydrogen pressure 1.0 MPa,stirring rate 1000 r/min,and by using the Ti modified raney Ni catalyst with Ti/Ni molar ratio of 0.012 as catalyst, water as solvent, and 0.20 g/l NaOH as an addition agent in the hydrogenation reaction of acetonitrile. In addition, the stability of the catalyst was discussed according to its reapplication.
