Abstract

Objective: To explore the expression of apoptosis suppressing factor Livin splicing variants in colon cancer and its clinical implication. Methods: Expressions of 2 Livin splicing variants were detected by real-time fluorogentic quantitative PCR(RFQ-PCR) based on SYBR Green Ⅰ staining in 24 colon cancer tissues which were confirmed by pathological examination. The adjacent normal colon tissues and benign disease tissues were as control. Results: Both Livin α and Livin β were detected in colon tissues of patients with colon cancer.Livin α was detected in 18 of 24(75.0%) colon cancer tissues, which was significantly higher than that of pericancerous tissues(16.7%,4/24) and benign disease tissues(11.1%,1/9).Livin β was detected in 20 of 24(83.3%) colon cancer tissues.Expressions of Livin α and Livin β had no association with sex, lymph node metastasis, and the Dukes' stages of colon cancer patients(P0.05),but expression of Livin α had positive relationship with differentiation degree of colon cancer. Conclusion:Both Livin splicing variants are over expressed in the colon cancer tissues.Expression of Livin α has close relationship with differentiation degree of colon cancer.
