Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect and safety of intravenous diltiazem for treatment of rapid ventricular rate in atrial fibrillation. Methods Sixty-six patients with rapid atrial fibrillation were divided into two groups(the treatment group and the control group) by a single-blind.Thirty-four cases(the treatment group) were applied by intravenous diltiazem and others by cedilanid. Results The total effective rate of the treatment group was 94.11% and the other was 68.75%.Efficacy in the treatment group was better than that in the control group, there had significant difference(P0.05).No serious adverse reaction happened due to diltiazem. Conclusion Diltiazem is more rapidly, effectively and safely than cedilanid in acutely slowing of rapid ventricular rate in patients with atrial fibrillation.
