The gentry class of the late Qing Dynasty and the Revolution of 1911

The late Qing Dynasty social changes made the traditional gentry class divided,the gentry class became more and more development and expansion.Before the Revolution of 1911 in the political arena they were very active.They devoted to the new education and culture,foundering modern enterprises,advocating of local self-government and constitutional,to seek their own political,economic rights,objectively prepared certain conditions for the victory of the revolution of 1911 in the country.In the Revolution of 1911,the gentry class was in favor of the republic and the Revolutionary,and placed an active part in revolu-tionary activities and the establishment of political power around the country.Gentry class of the late Qing Dynasty was very closely related to the revolution's breaking out,victory,defeat and the politics of early Republic of China.It was an important force affected the late Qing political situation.
