Abstract

The years after the Sino-Japanese War witnessed the economic development of modern China,the formation of sense of crisis in Chinese,and the transformation of social values,all of which created an excellent atmosphere for the buds of new political force.Reformers of that time,with Kang You-wei being the representative,belonged to the first political force that reflected new features and requirements of the new era.Members of the new political force were the representatives of those in the gentry' class who were transforming into modern capitalists and capitalist intellectuals.The formation and development of the new political force resultantly led to the changes in the balance of the hierarchy,which influenced the policies made by the Qing Dynasty and the formation of political situation of the late-Qing Dynasty.
