Clinical efficacy of partial superficial parotidectomy in treatment of parotid pieomorphic adenoma

Objective To investigate the efficacy of partial superficial parotidectomy in the treatment of parotid pieomorphic adenoma.Methods In our hospital the clinical data from 2002 January to 2012 January were summarized of 82 patients with parotid pieomorphic adenoma,according to the different operation methods for partial superficial parotidectomy group(52 cases) and in the superficial lobe resection group(30 cases),followed up for 3 to 10 years,were observed in two groups.Results using partial superficial parotidectomy of patients with facial paralysis,Frey syndrome,incidence of salivary fistulas were significantly lower than in the superficial parotidectomy operation patients(P0.05),two groups compare recurrence rates had no significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion Partial superficial parotidectomy of small trauma,less postoperative complications,can be used as the treatment of parotid pleomorphic adenomas of the first operation.
