Abstract

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation. Methods:Retrospective study was conducted in 42 cases(47 eyes) with angle-closure glaucoma. All of the patients underwent topical anesthesia through limbal tunnel incision, the phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation were performed. Results:All the intraocular pressures were under control,After operation there were significant differences between the preoperative and postoperative in the visual acuity, the intraocular pressure, the central anterior chamber depth and anterioe chamber angle. Conclusion:To treat the angle-closure glaucoma, phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation was kind of convenient, safe, and validable method. At the same time it had dual results of decreasing the pressure and improving the visual acuity.
