Abstract
Objective: To discuss the diagnostic value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS) in the splenic hemangiomas. Methods: 18 lesions in 8 patients with splenic hemangiomas were underwent contrast-enhanced ultrasound examination by using contrast tuned imaging (CnTI) technology and SonoVue. Enhancement patterns of hemangiomas were observed. Results: The contrast-enhancement time of splenic hemangiomas was 7-18 s, averaging (11.94±2.75) s. Compared with the peripheral splenic parenchyma, all lesions were enhanced earlier, the time to peak and the washout time of the hemangiomas were longer. There were significant differences between the two groups in all the data mentioned above (P0.05). Among the 18 lesions, 11 (61.1%) lesions showed peripheral enhancement and centripetal fill-in; 6(33.3%) lesions showed homogeneous hyper-enhancement very fast, then iso-enhancement continuely; 1 (5.6%) lesion first appeared with branches and successively appeared inhomogeneous hyper-enhancement. Conclusion: It is quite valuable to adopt contrast-enhanced sonography examination for diagnosis of splenic hemangioma.
