Abstract
Objective To investigate correlation between serum level of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and CT perfusion parameters (CTPP) before and after transcatheter hepatic arterial chemoembolization (TACE) in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).Materials and Methods The serum level of VEGF was measured and CT perfusion was performed 1 day before treatment and from 7 to 10 day after TACE in 17 patients with HCC.The values of hepatic blood flow (HBF),hepatic arterial fraction (HAF),hepatic arterial perfusion (HAP),portal vein perfusion(PVP) were calculated.Results There was statistically significant difference in HBF and HAP between that of pretreatment and posttreatment.There was positive correlation between the serum level of VEGF and HBF,HAF,and HAP.Conclusion The serum level of VEGF and CTPP could be helpful in the evaluation of the therapy effect of TACE.
