Guo Xiang and the Metaphysics of Directions in Wei and Jin Dynasties

Abstract

Meaning and value of life are of the eternal theme of philosophy.In Wei and Jin Dynasties,metaphysical thinkers have shifted the focus to think of human existence,and interpreted the possibility of survival from the height of the body.Wang Bi and Jikang had a disagreement between the principle of Confucianism and Taoism,but they put survival into their field of vision,and highlighted the sense of human transcendence.Guo Xiang’s creatively interpreted the realistic meanings of Freedom andHappiness in Zhuangzi,put Dao Tong Wei Yi into space and time,and found new metaphysical basis for the possibility of human existence.
