A Survey of Anxiety and Depression in 2364 Students of Senior High School

Abstract

Objective: To investigate the incidence and correlation factors of anxiety and depression state in senior high school.Method: Zung's self-rating anxiety scale(SAS) and self-rating depression scale(SDS) were employed to make survey among 2 364 students in 3 senior high schools.Results: The incidences of anxiety and depression state were 14.29% and 5.10% respectively.The data indicated that sex,school grade,and being only child or not were irrelevant to the incidence of anxiety or depression state,while there is a significantly positive correlation between the education level of parents and SDS score.Conclusion: The mood problems of high school students should not be neglected,which deserves great attention of society,school,and families.
