Abstract

The heavy rainfall process during the period of 12~14 May 2002(02. 5) is diagnosed by the T213 output and conventional sounding data. The result shows that the event is caused by the upper trough, surface cold front and uppe r and lower-level jets. The heavy rainfall area locates in the instability regio n with strongly ascending motion, high energy and high humidity.
