Positive and negative effects of economic globalization on the contemporary moral construction in China

By promoting productivity, providing material support, elevating freedom of moral agents and benefiting moral structure, economic globalization has positive effects on the contemporary moral construction in China. However, there are also some negative effects such as the potential threat of moral relativism, attacks on traditional moral values and the weakening position of moral in social regulation system. Therefore, the following three kinds of relationship have to be treated wih care: the relationship between other cultures and traditional morals, dominant moral system and subsidiary ones, foundational moral system in accordance with market economy and high level moral system beyond market economy.
