Abstract
Su Shi thought that Spring and Autumn Annals was a primary work to scholars. He disseminated it all his life since he took it as standard of ceremonies. He said that Zuo Zhuan valued history facts; Gong Yang and Gu Liang focussed on principle rulers. Su Shi also thought that the laws discussed in Spring and Autumn Annals were very strict, but they were excusable when practised to people. He objected to Wang An-shi's New Policies in his study of Spring and Autumn Annals. Under the influence of Su Shi, a school of scholars united under the principles of Spring and Autumn Annals.
