Analyses on irregular wave of transmission coefficient calculation method and distribution though a submerged breakwater

Abstract

This paper analyses wave transmission through a submerged breakwater under the action of irregular wave by use of a series of model tests,which studies upon the trapezoidal-type submerged breakwater.By dimensional analysis,some factors are obtained.Those factors are a/H(a is the height from the still water level to the top of submerged breakwater,H is the wave height),B/H(B is the submerged breakwater crest width),H/L(wave steepness),d/H(relative water depth).Base on the change of important factors and a lot of model test results,stable wave height of pre and post submerged breakwater is obtained by using fortran programs.The important factors such as a/H and B/H of irregular wave of transmission coefficient are obtained.base on regression analysis on dates of physical model experiment resules.Empirical formulas of wave transmission through a submerged breakwater under the action of irregular wave is obtained by using MATLAB.Finally,the statistical distribution of stable wave height after submerged breakwater is obtained by using hypothesis testing.
