Effect of Blood Introduction on the Pure Breeding of Local Yak

To prevent the breed deterioration and increase the production performance of local yak breed, the foreign blood was introduced to crossbreed the local yak. The results showed that under the same condition, the calves from female yaks crossbred with the foreign breed grew and developed fast with the greater disease resistance, surviving rate and low defect rate, which obtained the objectives of improving the quality of local yaks
