PTEN expression in non-small cell lung cancer and its clinical significance

Abstract

Objective:To investigate the expression and clinical significance of PTEN in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods:Our study was composed 111 paraffin-embedded NSCLC samples in which 30 had peritumoral tissue.The PTEN expression was examined with SP immunohistochemical techniques.Results:The positive expression rate of PTEN in lung cancer tissue was much more lower than that in the peritumoral tissue,with a significant difference.The expression of PTEN had no correlation with sex,age,tumor size and Histological Types.Conclusion:The expression of PTEN protein is lowered in NSCLC.
